Admittedly they’re really nice inside. Good materials. Also every lot is on 1 acre, which is unheard of here for new construction.

These are some of the ugliest modern homes I’ve seen. It’s just so disjointed. Multiple disjointed exterior sidings, the random side/shape windows, the total lack of any consistency in general (flat and pitched roof styles mixed with little sense).

There are plenty of really cool modern NW style houses going up all over the place, so I know they could do a lot better. BI has a bunch of them, like the new Harrison medical building, the Town & Country, etc. The east side has a bunch near the Microsoft campus and overlooking the lakes. I have even seen some decent ones in rough South Seattle neighborhoods where they tore down some postwar shacks...

These just look like a McMansion with modern mixed in. They don’t have the unified overall design that real modern houses have...

My favorite modern house around here is on West Lake Sammamish Parkway near 34th...
